So the beginning of our Christmas time adventures was going out on Black Friday to see if we could find some good deals on Christmas decorations and potential Christmas presents. I have never EVER done this before, mainly because after last year's death at WalMart I was afraid to know how crazy people are out there about their shopping. So Hunter and I decided that we would make the trek out to Target, but we would do it on own time, even if that meant all the good stuff was gone. (We had very low expectations) But, it actually was one of the most fun days I have had out shopping. Our bellies were full of good Thanksgiving food and fudge and we just took our time looking at all the fun Christmas stuff set out. While at Target, we got some awesome ornaments (all different shades of brown, gold, and silver, the same colors of our house) and some other great gems. The only thing we were wanting to find and didn't was a fake tree. I know, I know, fake tree right? Well, I have had a real tree my whole life on Christmas, but I thought this year it just might be easier since we are out of town a lot. I had tried to convince myself that it wouldn't be any different...Boy was I glad that we didn't find any, cause otherwise we wouldn't have gotten this little beauty.
I couldn't be more proud of our perfect First tree! And my my my look how pretty it looks all decorated....
As a wedding gift, Hunter and I got three of the same McCarty blue/green vases. I had debated for the longest time whether or not to take 2 of them back, but I finally realized they would be the foundation for many decorating inspirations for every season to come in the future. And wow am I glad I kept them! Paired with a little red poinsettia bloom, they make the perfect Christmas mantle piece.
Another one of my favorite things about Christmas is that I get to pull out my Snowglobe collection each year. Since about 7 years ago I have been collecting Snowglobes every Christmas. Every year, I can't wait to see which little beauty my Mom has gotten me. I hope to carry on the tradition for years to come. I love being able to display them in our cute little window seat.
For the kitchen table, I used one of my favorite Annie Glass bowls and filled it with mini ornaments that look like the ones on our tree. Quick and easy way to make your table more festive!
And last, but certainly not least...The fudge that I made while we decorated. Man oh Man is it yummy! If you see me rolling around over the holidays, you will know why! Happy Christmas decorating!
The house looks great! I hope to see it when I get to Jackson next week! Love you
